The Wonder Of Wood

Adding additional “Revenue streams” will help you grow your client base.

Let us help you in learning how to identify the different woods and what style they convey. Learn the difference between Hard wood floors, Engineered floors and Laminate. Did you know that not all wood floors can be placed on a diagonal? Did you know that Bamboo floors are not all the same? Leave understanding the difference of a “board” and a “rip” for flooring planks and how they can change the overall appearance of flooring.

Join JoAnne & DesAnn for the “What, Why & How Of Wood” webinar. Gain confidence in your knowledge of wood and have your clients FLOORED over your professional “Wood” knowledge.

As always you have the option to listen to the recorded version if you are unable to join us “live” on October 11 from 7-8:30 pm EST.

Business Owners MUST Be Fearless

Shining YOUR light

It is a tragedy that so many people let their “FEAR” overwhelm them. I for one do not like flying on airplanes. I get sick to my stomach just thinking about it.

This “FEAR” though can not be allowed to over-power your dreams, your destiny.

The best way for you to defeat FEAR, is to shine a bright light on it. Hmm you may ask, “Okay, how do I do that?’

Educated confidence is the “light” that will help us reach our goals. I have taught many very talented people that were  in need of CONFIDENCE. We seek confidence in our abilities. Education is one of the keys that will turn on YOUR light. I know, that I know kinda thing. When you know what you do works, the FEAR is diminished.

Attending educational conferences helped me to not only learn more about my craft but it also is energizing to my spirit to be surrounded by so many talented people who too had overcome their “FEAR”.  It doesn’t matter what profession you are in, those “Captains” of your industry were also afraid.

Surround yourself with positive influences that will help you to turn on the “LIGHTS”. Refuse to let “FEAR” stop you! I know that stepping on that plane in January for the DSA’s Americas Mart is going to have my tummy turning but I am choosing to go after my dreams and to not allow the “FEAR” to take over.

“Turn on YOUR lights….follow that dream with an unwavering passion!”

Home Stagers Have A Tough Profession

Before Staging

Creative talent of course is a big part of our lives. I believe though that having a tough skin is the number one asset that we need to succeed.

A few months ago I was asked to Stage a home. I had talked with the sellers and they hired me to come in and Stage their existing furnishings. Although the wife knew that she would leave her HOME that morning when she went to work and would be coming home to a different place, she was mad at me the minute she stepped in the door.

I called her that evening, her husband said “she doesn’t want to talk to you”. WOW…good thing I had on my “tough skin” suit.

What he said next was surprising. “Can you come back next week to help us Stage the rest of the house?”

They knew that the Staging I did was correct. She just couldn’t talk about it.

We Stagers MUST develop a “tough skin”. Going into these projects I know that I know that I know what needs to be done.  Often I feel like a parent. Sometimes we need to take the proper steps to help them SELL. Stagers must make the difficult choices.

We Stage for the target market coming in….NOT the seller.

After Staging

The home did sell in 26 days.  She did send me a “thank you” card with an apology for her behavior. I understood her “pain” but I knew what needed to be done in order to help them sell. After all that is my JOB….that is why I am a professional.

So if you have ever felt “wounded”, that’s okay. The sellers are counting on us not to cave-in to pressure but to make the tough choices and do our job.

My best,
